A group of evangelists from UK has donated goats to scores of vulnerable residents in Kimironko, Gasabo District. The move is aimed at fighting poverty in the area.

The group led by Pastor Hillary Wyatt handed over the donation through Crossroads International Church Rwanda, in Gasabo.

Pastor Joy Basinga, the leader of Crossroads International Church Rwanda, said they chose to donate goats because they can easily be reared on small plots in town unlike cows.

She appealed to the beneficiaries to look after the goats well if they are to benefit from them. "Handle these goats with care. Let them multiply so that you  share the gift with others,” Basinga said.

Ange Nyirarukundo, a beneficiary said: "I had goats before when I was still in my home district of Cyangugu. I  liked them a lot and I am so happy to have a goat again.”
