DESPITE being attached to Rayon Sports until end of season, head coach Luc Eymael has his heart elsewhere and would welcome a return to his former club AFC Leopards of Kenya.

He was quoted in the Kenyan press this week saying that he would consider a switch back to the Kenyan Premier League (KPL) giants if an opportunity materializes, as he had left unfinished business.

Eymael parted ways with Leopards in September 2013 to be replaced by James Nandwa whose position at the club is now a subject of much discussion after an unconvincing start to the 2014 season.

 The Belgian, on a six month deal with the Rwandan champions, admits a return to Nairobi would be hard to turn down.

Buyout clause

Speaking to futaa.com, he said that he is happy at his current club and enjoying working with what he described as an interesting crop of players but admitted that he would trigger the buyout clause in his contract in case AFC Leopards came calling.

"I had a project at Leopards and of course when I left I had unfinished business at the club so it is a door that is not completely shut. But, I have a contract here and everything is good,” he said.

Eymael, who took over early last month, replacing Frenchman Didier Gomes da Rosa, added, "We are in the title race, the players are great, fans are terrific and even though no one has contacted me officially from Leopards, a chance to return may be hard to resist.”

Eymael’s side, currently second in the Rwandan top flight, has a great chance to boost their title ambitions should they beat Mukura this weekend and get a positive result against APR next weekend when the two sides meet in a rivalry derby.
