On form AS Kigali will be looking to maintain their fine form when they take on Police on Sunday in the Turbo King Football League match at Stade de Kigali. Kickoff is 3:30pm.

AS Kigali recorded their eleventh win of the season with a 1-0 victory against AS Muhanga on Thursday at Stade de Muhanga thanks to David Niyobanyita’s first half strike.

The win took them into third place on 37 points, nine behind leaders APR and three ahead of Police, who are in fifth place.

Andre Gasambungo’s team is in positive mood having reached the 1/8th round of the Caf Confederation Cup where they will face Difaa El Jadida of Morocco in the first leg on March 22.

Against AS Muhanga, Gasambungo reserved some of his key players ahead of Sunday’s clash. With no injuries or suspensions, they will be seeking to complete a double over Police, who will also be looking to avenge for the 3-0 loss in the corresponding fixture.

"We are taking every match seriously and all we need is to get three points but also to play well. Police are a tricky side but we are on a good run and I am confident we shall win,” Gasambungo told Saturday Sport yesterday.

Gasambungo said a win against Police will boost the team’s confidence ahead of the El Jadida clash next weekend

Police FC will be without their suspended head coach Sam Ssimbwa, who was hit with one-match ban on Wednesday and a fine of Rwf100,000 for confronting a match referee after his team’s defeat to Rayon Sports a fortnight ago. Assistant coach Djabir Mutarambirwa will be in charge.

Today, defending champions Rayon Sports will be seeking to bounce back from the defeat against Espoir in their last league outing when they take on struggling Mukura in Muhanga.

The Blues’ coach Luc Eymael will be fielding key players Cedric Amissi and Karim Nizigiyimana, who missed the 2-1 loss tie against Espoir last weekend.

However, Cedric Kaze’s Mukura will face their toughest test yet in what has been a disappointing season without three of their first choice players namely; Rodrique Mazuru, Bertrand Youssa and Djuma Ngendakumana.

APR, who will be without suspended defender Albert Ngabo, will be hoping to consolidate their place at the top of the table when they host eighth-placed Etincelles at Stade de Kigali.

But Vincent Mashami’s side be boosted by the return of  midfielder Jean Baptiste Mugiraneza and striker Michel Ndahinduka, who missed the last fixture due to injuries.

In Gicumbi, Jean Baptist Kayiranga will hope to help Gicumbi improve on their 12th position when they host seventh-placed Musanze.

However, Musanze have been in top form with their striker Wai Yeka topping the goal scoring chart with 12 goals.

Elsewhere on Sunday, sixth-placed SC Kiyovu host relegation threatened Esperance FC at Mumena stadium, while bottom side Amagaju will be up against Marines and fourth-placed Espoir hosts AS Muhanga in Rusizi.
