In a move to encourage outstanding performance in schools, Rwanda Education Board (REB) today awarded laptops and internet modems to more than 80 outstanding teachers across the country.

Addressing the teachers, State Minister Mathias Harebamungu thanked them for their hard work and contribution in the development of Rwanda.

"This is an opportunity for us to recognise the efforts you're making in your day-to-day work,” he said, adding that the initiative will be held annually.

The laptops, according to officials, will help them improve performance in teaching.

Awarded teachers come from all 30 districts of Rwanda.
