The Chinese Ambassador to Rwanda, Sshen Yongxiang, reiterated his government’s commitment to supporting education in Rwanda.

Yongxiang was speaking in Rulindo last Friday after touring Inyange Girls School. He gave the school ten computers, a flat screen TV among other materials.

China has been supporting the school since its construction by providing scholastic materials, training among other requirements.

Yongxiang hailed the good relations between Chinese and the Rwandan government.

He pledged continuous support to the school and challenged authorities to champion quality education in order to compete at both national and international level.

Aime Bosenibamwe, the Northern Province governor, hailed the Chinese support in education and in other sectors.

"The Chinese support in education and in other sectors is critical as it helps Rwanda move toward Vision 2020 and helps fight against ignorance in the country,” said Bosenibamwe.

Medius Ingabire, Inyange Girls School headmistress, said China supported them in the extension of the school and provided materials to enhance quality education.

She pledged to contribute to national development by delivering quality education to the students. Inyange Girls’ school started in 2011 with around 80 students but it has grown to over 480 students.

It offers Mathematics, Physics and Computer (MPC) and Mathematics, Computer and Economy (MCE)
