Bourbon Coffee reopens after renovation

Bourbon coffee UTC branch has re-opened after weeks of renovation works. Besides a new look, the coffee shop also expanded its capacity and can accommodate 185 guests compared to 79 customers before the renovations.

Bourbon coffee UTC branch has re-opened after weeks of renovation works. Besides a new look, the coffee shop also expanded its capacity and can accommodate 185 guests compared to 79 customers before the renovations.

According to Serge Mushinzimana, the Bourbon Coffee general manager, the renovation also aimed at strengthening the profile of Rwandan coffee on the domestic and global markets.

Coffee employs over 400,000 farmers and is one of Rwanda’s leading foreign exchange earners.

The coffee brewer, which started in 2007, has five outlets in Kigali. It serves several brands of roasted coffee, including Akagera, Lake Kivu, Kizi Rift, Muhazi and Virunga. 

The New Times, has partnered with Bourbon Coffee and will have newsstands at all the coffee brewer’s outlets across Kigali.

Though coffee is one of the country's major cash crops, most Rwandans do not drink the beverage.
