As Rwanda joins the rest of the world to celebrate the International Women’s Day today, renowned artist Augustin Hakizimana has added glamour to the day by holding a solo art exhibition dubbed -Impano in honor of women. The exhibition will be held today at the Kigali based Heaven restaurant.

"I want to appreciate the way our mothers play a big role in our lives. That is taking care of children and preparing them for a bright future. It is a gift that has been given to them by God. That is why I am calling my exhibition Impano,” said Hakizimana.

Hakizimana’s work draws from experiences of women and the important role they play in upbringing of children. Hakizimana started painting in 2008 at the age of 20, and since then he has exhibited his unique work throughout Rwanda and beyond.

He started from Ivuka Art studio and is currently working with Uburanga Art studio, which he joined in 2010.

The Impano art exhibition is the fourth of its kind and it will start at 6pm.
