President Paul Kagame yesterday received the Silver Award of Distinction in recognition of his leadership in peace building, reconciliation, development, good governance, promotion of human rights, women empowerment, advancement of education and ICT.
President Paul Kagame yesterday received the Silver Award of Distinction in recognition of his leadership in peace building, reconciliation, development, good governance, promotion of human rights, women empowerment, advancement of education and ICT.
It was during an annual event, known as the Silverbird Man of the Year, to celebrate the continent's achievers. It was held in Lagos, Nigeria.
The President was represented by Joseph Habineza, Rwanda's High Commissioner to the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
President Ernest Bia Koroma of Sierra Leone was also honoured for his contributions in the rebuilding of his country.
Other awardees include: Governor Peter Obi of Anambra State (Nigeria), Governor Raji Fashola of Lagos State, Steven Keshi (Nigeria's national football head coach), among others.
The 2013 Silver Award was organised by Silverbird Group.
