Emmanuel Sibomana, commonly known as Emmy Vox alongside Israel Mbonyi, Bosco Nshuti and True Promises Ministry brought together gospel music lovers that witnessed their live music performances.
The number of revelers was however small especially in the VIP section but that didn’t stop them from giving an impressive heartfelt performance that brought the audience into a mood of what was to come next.
Actress Jeanette Bahavu, clad in a long white dress was the host of the show and managed to keep the audience engaged and entertained.
Music group True Promises were the first headliners of the show. They sang mostly their fans’ favourites and brought the crowd into a mood of praise and dance.
They were followed by Bosco Nshuti that got revelers cheering and singing along throughout his performance at the concert that was all about gratitude for triumph from a sad history.
Before the main headliner, Emmy Vox came on stage, they showed a documentary about why he organised this concert. In the documentary different people that included his siblings and relatives who were with Emmy and his family during his childhood talked about an emotional journey he went through.
"I was born at a time when we were being hunted down because we were Rwandans living in Democratic Republic of Congo. They had imprisoned my parents but later on my father died, leaving my mother and siblings. Life was not easy at all, we didn’t get the basic needs a child would need and we lived in a period of hunger”, said Emmy Vox.
Dressed in all white, Emmy got on stage beaming with smiles singing his single ‘Amateka’, a song that holds so much for the singer after a hard time he lived in growing up. The song title which he also gave to his debut concert, proclaims how God changes history, never fails and is trustworthy.
Emmy was full of energy throughout the performance as the crowd also sang and got off their seats to dance with him.
Prophet Ernest preached the gospel to the crowd that attentively listened to him. He then gifted singer Israel Mbonyi for supporting Emmy Vox with Rwf 1,000,000.
Israel Mbonyi said that to show his gratitude he will share the money in half with fellow singer Emmy Vox, who organized the concert.
He performed some of his songs like ‘Icyambu’ and ‘Umusirikare’ and left the audience yearning for more.
Emmy then returned on stage performing with duo Ben and Chance. He then called on stage his mother to thank her for raising him and his siblings singlehandedly in a Christ-centered home.
The concert ended at 10:40pm.
