Roofings Group unveils new $5m Poly Pipes Division

ROOFINGS Ltd, East Africa’s leading quality steel manufacturer has launched a $5million poly pipes division, making it a one stop centre for the construction industry in the region.

"The plant has a brand new state-of-the-art facility to meet all market needs for quality PVC pipes whose demand in the region is growing,” Sikander Lalani, the company’s Managing Director said during the launch at the company’s offices in Kampala.

He said that Roofings Company is in the process of increasing the product range by introducing drip pipes for use in irrigation systems to enhance efforts in investing in commercial agriculture in the region.

"Our aim is to continuously be innovative by venturing into manufacture of quality products by applying the most appropriate new technology to cater for both local and the regional market,” Lalani said.

Lalani also told The New Times that all arrangements had been effected with the Rwanda Development Board (RDB) to pave the way for the entry of the region’s single largest manufacturer of both electro-welded tubes and wire products.

"There is a lot of integrity and order in Rwanda and we value this so much.”

Roofings Group, supplies over 350,000 metric tons per annum to both local and export market within the region.
