Music lovers will have a feel of “Bongo Flava and Ragga” when top Ugandan artiste Jose Chameleone graces the annual Mt. Kenya University beauty pageant tonight, at Gikondo Expo grounds.

The Afrobeat/Dancehall star will perform alongside Knowless and Riderman, as the university picks Miss and Mr Mt. Kenya University.
Chameleone is known for hit songs such as Jamila, Mama Rhoda, Shida za Dunia, Kipepeo, Bei Kali, Fitina Yako, Mama Mia and SivyoNdivyo among others.
Twenty participants will be battling it out for the crown.
They include ten girls and ten boys; the winner among girls will replace Jane Kayitesi, while the favourite among the boys will replace Patrice Baraka. The two were crowned in 2012.
Purity Phuo, one of the organisers, said that Mr and Miss Mount Kenya preparations have gone well and everything is set for the big do.
"All artistes have confirmed their presence including Uganda’s Jose Chameleone. We expect a massive show. People should come in big numbers,” she said.
The 20 contestants are aged between 19 and 21. The event will start at 6pm and entrance fee will be Rwf1500 for students, Rwf3, 000 for the general seats and Rwf5, 000 for the VIP section.
Students will show prowess in various activities like drama, acting, cat walk, creativity as well as beauty among others.
In return, the university accords participants and winners different benefits including scholarships, cash prizes and many other rewards which is done in partnership with different sponsors.
