As the way of developing sport in the country, the Rwanda Cycling Federation in partnership with SKOL beer will organise a one-day competition dubbed ‘Farms Circuit race’ on Saturday.
The race, which will cover a total distance of 120km is expected to attract over 50 local riders both men and women from all clubs recognised by Ferwacy. These include; Benediction Club, Les Amis Sportifs, CCA, Kiramuruzi Cycling Team, Cine Elmay, Rapide Entertainment Club and Fly Club.
Riders will start from Rwamagana in the Eastern Province and end at Matimba in Western Province.
According to the cycling federation’s permanent secretary Emmanuel Murenzi, the aim of Saturday’s race is to increase the number of races on the national calendar in a bid to give riders more competition options.
"We need to give other young talented riders chance to compete in as many competitions as possible which would help them to improve before competing in continental and international races in future,” he explained.
