RAYON SPORT’S right back Karim McKenzie Nizigiyimana is saddened after the Burundi national team coach Rainer Wilfried left him out of the side which will face Rwanda in the international friendly match set for March 5 at Prince Louis Rwagasore stadium in Bujumbura.
"I was shocked and saddened not to be included on the Burundian team for the friendly match against Rwanda,” Mckenzie told Times Sport yesterday.
The former APR defender noted, "I thought I have had good performances this season with my club (Rayon Sports) and with that I believed the coach would consider me for any imminent international match. So to be left out without any explanation hurts.”
League top scorer, Cedric Amissi is the only Rwanda-based player summoned by coach Wilfried. Other Turbo King national football league Burundian stars include; Rayon Sports skipper Fuadi Ndayisenga, Ally Musa from SC Kiyovu and Claude Nahimana from Mukura.
The friendly match will help both nations to prepare for the preliminary round of the 2015 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
