Thirty teachers from Essa Nyarugunga have been tipped on how to be effective in order to succeed in life. The teachers were also cautioned against ignoring crucial principles or habits that can change their lives.

The appeal was made by Godfrey Lugoloobi, the vice president of the Africa Leaders Professional Network during a workshop at Essa Nyarugunga Senior Secondary School on Friday.

"People should learn how to prioritize and plan. Teachers should organise for the lesson before thinking of watching a football match,” he said, adding that they should be pro-active and think outside the box.

The training aimed at ensuring that teachers are well positioned to give outstanding advice to their students so that competency is realised in their adult life.

Shaka Frank, the head teacher of Essa Nyarugunga, said effective people have a vision, correct principles and a deep sense of personal meaning.

At the end of the training, the teachers set goals that are measurable and accomplishable in a bid to be effective.
