Bralirwa will begin manufacturing Coke Zero products.

With some customers becoming sensitive to sugared beverages because of their health, Brasseries Et Limonaderies—Bralirwa is planning to introduce Coke Zero on the Rwandan market.

Bralirwa—the only beverage manufacturing company in Rwanda—announced that Coke Zero will be on supermarket shelves soon.

Coke Zero, a product of the Coca-Cola Company, comes to Rwanda at a time many consumers are shunning some Coca Cola products because of high sugar concentration.

"I have resorted to water as my drink. My doctors advised me to stop taking anything with sugar,” said Joan Kayitesi.

She is one of the hundreds who used to love Coca Cola products but had to stop drinking them because she was diagonised with high blood pressure.

But Bralirwa is not about to lose any consumers.
"Coca Cola Zero, a sugar-free variation of Coca-Cola, is soon to be on the market,” said Door Platenga, Bralirwa Managing Director, adding they will quickly stock the product at Nakumatt chain store in Kigali.

Nakumatt, a leading chain store with 19 branches in Kenya, will start operating in Kigali before the end of this month.

It is reported that in the United States, where the drink was first introduced, Coke Zero is marketed as having zero calories—hence the Zero in the product’s name, but in other countries, Internet information indicates that it is marketed as having zero sugar.

"Coca-Cola Zero in fact has a negligible caloric value. Depending on the country in which it is made,” Internet information indicates.
