Police in Western Province are investigating the cause of  the death of a Catholic priest whose body was recovered in Nyungwe Park, Rusizi District, on Saturday , two days after he had been reported missing.

Father Evariste Nambaje was serving as an accountant at Cyangugu Diocese in Rusizi District.

"We are still investigating the cause of the death. We found his body slumped in the backseat of a locked Land Cruiser, with keys left on the front seat,” Chief Superintendent Francis Gahima, the Western Province Regional Police spokesperson, told The New Times.
