La Jeunesse and Amagaju have been promoted to the topflight division for next season after the two sides qualified for the final of the second division league.

Nyamirambo based La Jeunesse beat Nyanza 4-2 on penalty shoot outs after winning the second leg tie 2-1 which left the two teams tied at 3-3 on goal aggregate. Nyanza had won the first leg 2-1.

Amagaju got their ticket after eliminating the National University of Rwanda also on penalties 5-3 after the scores were level at 2-2 over the two legs.

Unprecedently, all four semifinalists came through from group A. All group B presumed big sides like Muhanga, Zebra, Musanze and Espoir were eliminated at the quarter-final stage.

La Jeunesse eliminated Espoir; Amagaju ousted Musanze, and NUR beat Zebra whereas the pre-season favourites Muhanga were eliminated by Nyanza. 

The final match between La Jeunesse and Amagaju is scheduled for this Saturday at Ferwafa’s artificial turf in Remera to decide the division two champions.

The two new entrants are most likely to take places of Military, Etincelles and Police who occupy the bottom three places in the topflight division.
