The National Volleyball League, initially supposed to start this weekend has been shifted to next weekend, according to executive secretary of the Rwanda Volleyball Federation.

Christian Hatumimana said on Friday that the reason for postponing the league is because most teams missed to beat the deadline for registration.
"Some teams didn’t register in time so we decided to give them more time to finish all their registration. We believe that by next weekend, every team would have registered,” the former APR player said.
The new teams which will spice up the league include; Kirehe Volleyball Club (men), Petit Seminaire Karubanda (men), Ngororero (men and women), Umubano Blue Tigers (men), Rayon Sport (men) and Kicukiro College of Technology (women).
Other teams that will feature in the national league are; INATEK, Christ-Roi, KVC, Lycee de Nyanza, Rusumo High School, UR Huye Campus, G.S.O Butare and GS Saint Joseph Kabgayi.
The women’s category will be comprised of, Rwanda Revenue Authority, defending champions APR, Ruhango, St Alloys Rwamagana and Lycee de Nyanza have already confirmed their participation in the upcoming league.
NUR-Huye campus (former NUR) are the men’s defending champions. They beat archrivals APR to the title in last season’s playoff final.
