The Swedish Minister for Finance, Anders Borg, is expected to visit Rwanda next week, according to a statement from the Swedish Embassy in Kigali.

Borg is expected to hold talks with his counterpart Amb. Claver Gatete, the Governor of the National Bank of Rwanda, John Rwangombwa, business leaders and development partners.

He's also scheduled to pay respect to the victims of the 1994 Genocide against the Tutsi at the Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre.

His visit is part of a regional tour which will also cover other members of the East African Community (EAC) bloc.

According to the statement, the tour is part of broader efforts to strengthen ties between Sweden and regional countries.
