1000 Hills Academy Awards 

All roads will lead to Petit Stade in Remera for the premier of the 1000 Hills Academy Awards. The red carpet event is expected to be graced by the crème de la crème of the film industry in Rwanda who will be hoping to be recognised for their efforts. The event will take place Sunday starting at 3:00pm. Entrance is free. 

Karaoke

Micha’s Bistro Café located at Muhima will feature Karaoke and live music tonight. Heaven Restaurant located in Kiyovu features Happy hour nightly from 5pm – 7pm (buy one get one free on wine and local beers). Grill and Barbeque located in Kacyiru after PSI Rwanda has Karaoke from 8pm. Entrance is free and there are prizes to be won for the best singers. Those that enjoy strip dancing have not been left out; you can find these every Friday and Saturday at Jorgyz (Vision) just before King Faisal Hospital in Kacyiru. 

Photography consortium

Photographer and film-maker Jens Assur depicts urban Africa and challenges western preconceptions with highly topical photographic works, in an art project with the ironic title Africa is a Great Country. The exhibition that started on Monday will end this Saturday and Sunday starting at 9:00 am – 5:00pm. On Saturday, the exhibition starts from 9:00am – 2:00pm. The venue is COST 4, Muhabura Gate, Entrance is free. 

Cinema

Century Cinema, located at Kigali City Towers will be screening new movies starting on February 21 to 27. Screen 1 will be screening About Last Night in 2D on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday at 3:00pm, 5.00pm, 7.00pm and 9.00pm. Screen 2 will screen Robo Cop 2 on Friday, Saturday and Sunday at 4:25pm and 6:45pm and Monuments Men on the same days but at 2:00pm and 9:10pm. All movies are in 2D. Screen 3 will be showing three movies, on the days said above, Jai Ho will screen at 6:00pm and Hasee Toh Phasee at 9:00pm. Both movies are in 2D. The Lego Movie screening at 2:00pm and 4:00pm is the only movie in 3D. 2D movies are Rwf2500 and 3D movies are Rwf3500.

Miss Rwanda Finale

The girls will have been in boot camp for two weeks come this Saturday and all is set for the final showdown on Saturday at Petit Stade in Remera. Voting is still in progress and will end a few hours before the show starts on Saturday. This event will start at 5pm and entrance is Rwf 10,000 for VIP and Rwf 5,000 for ordinary seats.
