UPCOMING artiste Thaddy Erabizi, better known by his stage name Edouce, says this year he will not only contest in Primus Guma Guma Super Star season 4 but will put in all the effort needed to win!
The Afro beat musician has released eight songs and plans to launch his first album this year.
The 21-year-old is eager to join the annual Bralirwa music promotion initiative that has so far seen three musicians walking away with millions of Francs.
"The most important thing is determination; I want to assure you that I will make it this year,” Erabizi says.
Who is Erabizi?
Erabizi was born on July20 1991 in a small town called Kamembe in Rusizi District in the Western Province.
He is the second born to Thaddy Leodonald Irabizi and Launance Mukavuganeta. He attended his primary education at Lycee de Gishenyi before joining Esir Ecole Secondaire Islamique de Ruhengeri for secondary education.
He then went to Rwanda Tourism University College (RTUC) and he now holds a Diploma in Tours and Travel. Having been born in a family with a strong christian background, Erabizi discovered his talent when he started singing in a church choir. Currently, he says he is a born again and goes to Zion Temple for prayers.
He started his music career in 2010 when he released his first single Olusinje and in a period of two months, he released Akandikumutima, a hit that was produced by Paster P of Narrow Roads Production.
Erabizi went on to release Oxygen and Ndakumbuye. The two are currently receiving massive air play on the local FM radio stations.
He has faced challenges just like any other upcoming musician. Erabizi says lack of sponsors has affected many musicians without the resources to record their music.
He adds that the tendency to appreciate foreign music more than our own has affected the pace at which the music industry is developing.
However, he says that such and other challenges can never put him off his mission. He is currently planning to work on videos for his three latest singles.
