"We received a vibrant and exciting welcome from the audience and this is not what I expected,” Ras Kayaga told The New Times.
Kayaga said he was proud to discover that Rwandan music is popular in other countries, a sign that the Rwandan music industry has grown.
The annual festival is in line with the search of long lasting peace and security in the Great Lakes Region.
The festival attracted participants from different parts of the country including renowned regional artistes like Lokua Kanza (France), Lexxus Legal (Kinshasa) and Innocent Balume (Goma) among others.
The Amani Festival includes music and dance and is always held in Goma to promote peace and reconciliation.
