BURERA — Boniface Rucagu, the chairman of Rwanda Patriotic Front (RPF), in the Northern Province, has called upon party members to be known for their good works in order to rally others.

Addressing RPF members at a general assembly, in Burera, Rucagu urged the members on the accomplishment of party initiatives.

The general assembly followed a series of other meetings which were being conducted at cells and sector levels.
The meeting focused on reviewing the achievements attained in terms of economic development, justice, good governance, social welfare and the role of the party members in implementing performance contracts.

Pointing out the party achievements in the district, the district party chairman, Aime Bosenibamwe, said that unity and reconciliation had surpassed cases of genocide ideology that were previously reported in the district. Bosenibamwe is also the district Mayor.

He appealed to area residents to join efforts in fighting illegal local brew commonly referred to as ‘kanyanga’, from Uganda.

He asked the members to change their ways of thinking, and work towards self sustenance.

The meeting was characterised by traditional music and dances, poems, in celebration of the sector achievements in different domains.

This included building community settlements (midugudu) fighting corruption and consolidation of farm land.
Fred Nyamurangwa, from the RPF secretariat, urged party faithful to exhibit good conduct during the upcoming parliamentary elections.
