Isonga FC face Sunrise in top of the Pool clash

THE SECOND division football league continues this weekend with the peak being the top of the table clash in Pool B between leaders Sunrise and second-placed Isonga FC tomorrow at Ferwafa ground.

THE SECOND division football league continues this weekend with the peak being the top of the table clash in Pool B between leaders Sunrise and second-placed Isonga FC tomorrow at Ferwafa ground.

According to head coach Yves Rwasamanzi, Isonga, who are fresh from beating bottom-placed Akagera 9-0 last weekend, will be eager to stun Pool leaders.

"We are facing the top team in the Pool, which is why we should avoid making mistakes during the 90 minutes. We have prepared well and we’re confident,” Rwasamanzi said on Friday.

Rwamagana-based Sunrise FC were denied the top flight division football by Esperance after the latter won their semi-finals tie en-route to the second division title.

Sunrise are unbeaten after 11 rounds of matches, winning nine and drawing two.

Sunrise lead Pool A with 29 points, nine points ahead of Isonga, Sorwathe and Vision Jeunesse stand third and fourth with 19 points, while Rwamagana are fifth-placed with 18points. Akagera FC are placed at the bottom of the pool in the 10th position with a single point.

In Pool B, Interforce lead with 20 points, SEC Academy and Etoile de l’Est are second and third level on h 18 points, while Unity FC, with 17 points come in the fourth place. 

University of Rwanda- College of Arts and Social sciences (NUR) and Pepiniere are in eighth and ninth positions respectively with four points each.
