WITH HIS team flying high in the third place in the Turbo King National Football League, Espoir head coach Emmanuel Ruremesha is optimistic the best is yet to come from his team.

The Rusizi-based side will face Musanze in the league on Sunday in Rusizi and Ruremesha believes his team, which started the season as one of the relegation candidates has what it takes to run the distance and possibly gate-crash the top four.

Ruremesha, who joined Espoir at the start of this season, has transformed the club without spending much or signing on big stars.

Espoir have the best defensive record in the league, having conceded eight goals, one less than leaders APR in 17 matches. Both teams have lost just once so far but the Espoir have the second highest number of draws (8), only Etincelles with nine, have drawn more.

"I am happy with the way our season is going.

We have a good solid side, and we have what it takes to compete for the top places on the table as we have demonstrated against any opposition so far, we will continue to fight on, but the top four is not very far from our reach,” after last weekend’s 1-1 draw with SC Kiyovu at Mumena stadium, Ruremesha said.

Espoir have won eight, drawn eight and lost one of their 17 matches respectively to move to 32 points, eight points behind APR.
