RAS KAYAGA and Mani Martin will be the only artistes representing Rwanda at this year’s Amani Festival in the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The two musicians are expected to travel today ahead of the annual festival that starts on Sunday.  Unlike Mani Martin, this is the first time Kayaga is taking part in the event. 

The week-long festival will bring together different artistes including Lokua Kanza (France), Lexxus Legal (Kinshasa) and Innocent Balume (Goma) among others.

The festival is in line with the search of long lasting peace and security in the Great Lakes Region.

In an interview, Martin said the festival offers an opportunity to Rwandan artistes and other musicians from the region to work alongside world-class musicians. 

"Amani festival helps young artistes to share the stage and gain experience from Africa’s renowned artistes who participate in this gala,” said Martin.
