RWANDA FOOTBALL Federation, Ferwafa has slapped Police FC lead scorer Jacques Tuyisenge (pictured above) with a four-match ban and Rwf50,000 fine over indiscipline.
Tuyisenge was banned after he beat a ball boy named Ananias during the Turbo King League match which pitted Esperance against Police at Stade Mumena last month.
Ferwafa’s Secretary General Michel Gasingwa said on Tuesday that the disciplinary committee took the decision to ban Tuyisenge after investigating the matter.
"Tuyisenge exhibited unbecoming conduct during the Turbo King league match and the committee in charge of discipline found it logical to hand the player with a four-match ban,” added Gasingwa.
The Police FC Secretary General Jean de Dieu Mayira was shocked by the kind of punishment that Ferwafa imposed on the player.
"This was a harsh decision because we had sorted it out on our side with the said ball boy and even ordered Tuyisenge to pay him Rwf.100,000 to cover his medication,” added Mayira.
Tuyisenge has so far scored seven goals in seventeen matches Police has played this season. The Cops side have won nine matches, drawn four and lost four matches to sit fourth on the log with 31 points.
Coach Sam Ssimbwa will now miss the services of Tuyisenge during the upcoming Turbo King league matches against Rayon Sports scheduled for February 23; AS Kigali on March 23, Mukura on March 29 and SC Kiyovu on April 19.
