The Rwanda Stock Exchange yesterday recorded a total turnover of Rwf551.8m from 1, 258,700 Bank of Kigali and 282,500 Bralirwa shares traded in 24 deals. 

The commercial bank’s counter traded at Rwf270 a share, up from Rwf255 the previous Monday, earning Rwf314.9m yesterday compared to Rwf20.9m on Monday last week. 

The Bralirwa counter also had high activity, trading 282,500 shares at Rwf840 pera share, unchanged from last Monday’s closing price. 

The brewer’s total turnover for the day was Rwf236.9m compared to Rwf38.4m the previous Monday.

The Rwanda Stock Exchange share index was up by 3.94 points yesterday to close at 240.50 points from 236.56 points last Monday. 

Kenya Commercial Bank shares last transacted at Rwf185, while Nation Media Group and Uchumi Supermarket shares last transacted at Rwf1,200 and Rwf174, respectively. 

At the end of formal trading hours, there were outstanding bids for 3,451,900 Bank of Kigali shares at between Rwf235 and Rwf239 and no offers, while the Bralirwa counter had offers of 316,000 shares at between Rwf845 and Rwf890 and bids for 100,000 shares at Rwf838.

There were bids for 12 400 shares at on the Kenya Commercial Bank counter at between Rwf175 and Rwf180 and no offers.

On the Nation Media Group counter, there were bids for 2,000 shares at between Rwf1,200 and Rwf1,320 and no offers. There was an outstanding offer of 2,500 Uchumi shares at Rwf175 and bids for 6,900 shares at between Rwf151 and Rwf160.
