Rwanda Cricket Association (RCA) has summoned national team players to start training as they prepare to compete in the ICC Africa World Cricket League Division 3 T20 to be held in South Africa in March.
The team is currently undergoing training with coaches Joshua Mwanja and Ed Pearson. In 2012 the Rwandan team came 3rd out of 6 countries in the same tournament.
This year’s tournament will see Rwanda compete against Morocco, Swaziland, Sierraleone and Gambia.
"Looking at the opposing teams I think we have a better side and can win the tournament,” said the team manager Srinath Vardhineni.
Winning this tournament will improve the ranking of Rwanda who are currently ranked 3rd in international cricket council Africa rankings.
