The Rwanda Amateur Boxing Association (RABA) elections have been set for next month on a date yet to be confirmed, according to the chairman of RABA, Cyatwa Ngarambe.
Ngarambe said, "A committee has been set up to oversee these elections which are most likely to take place next month.”
RABA’s general secretary, Ibrahim Africa said, "We are yet to meet to discuss about the election date but most probably, they will be held between 15th and 16th next month. I can’t say much about this date because it might change.”
The federation vice president Charles Muvunyi will lead the committee, which is charged with organising and overseeing the elections. The elections were supposed to take place last year but due to unknown reasons, they were pushed to 2014.
Boxing has not registered any big achievements to write home over the last decade.
RABA is comprised of clubs such as Kimisagara, Remera, Inkuba, No Limits and Masaka Boxing Club and they too are struggling to stay in existence.
