Southern Province-based Mukura Victory Sports have completed the signing of five new players as they bid to improve on their current league position.
The new players include; defender Didier Niyonkuru from Rayon Sports, midfielders Kevin Hakizimana from Mukura junior team, Abu Ndayekamiye from Etoile d’Est, Ibrahim Nshimiyimana from Intare and striker Warnock Bate from Gicumbi.
"We have signed them to beef up the team for the second half of the season,” the club’s General Secretary, Olivier Mulindahabi, confirmed on Friday.
He added, "It’s important to strengthen our team in preparation for league and Peace Cup. The players we have signed so far are all good and we hope they will be good additions on the team as we seek to climb up the league table.”
Mukura is currently in ninth position with 17 points, ten points ahead of the bottom two teams Amagaju and Esperance after 25 rounds of matches.
Coach Cedric Kaze’s team have won five, drawn two and lost eight but Mulindahabi still believes Mukura, who finished fourth last season, can make significant improvement between now and end of season.
Mukura will be hoping to win against Etincelles, for which a win would take them into 8th position on Saturday. Etincelles are number eight on the table, one point ahead of Mukura.
