Kamanzi to replace Nkubito at Ferwafa

Former Rwandan international referee Athanase Nkubito leaves for Cairo, Egypt next week to assume his new role as the assistant manager of the referees department in the Confederation of African Football [CAF].

Former Rwandan international referee Athanase Nkubito leaves for Cairo, Egypt next week to assume his new role as the assistant manager of the referees department in the Confederation of African Football [CAF].

Nkubito, who will be the first Rwandan to officially work with CAF on a permanent role, was appointed the assistant head of the referees department after exhibiting good work in his role in the past three years at Ferwafa.

"This is a good opportunity to exercise what I have been doing and to help in the continued growth of football on the continent,” he said.

At Ferwafa, Nkubito will be replaced by the Amavubi Under 17 & 20 team manager Emery Kamanzi, who was appointed to head the vacant referees department.
