Rwanda’s women national team coach Grace Nyinawumuntu is keen to improve the team in time for the 2014 CAF Africa Women’s Championship qualifiers, first leg against Kenya on the weekend of February 13-15.

Nyinawumuntu, who was appointed two weeks ago, said: "I am very aware of the huge task ahead of us but we need to use that to work hard and improve before taking on Kenya.”

"My aim is to build a strong national team which will be able to compete at the highest level in the region and on the continent,” the former Rwandan international defender told Times Sport on Sunday.

She added: "The Kenya game is very important for us and we have to prepare adequately for it. We have to win to have a good chance of qualifying, we need to be among of the best teams and we know we can do it, we will work hard and prepare well so that we can be at our best.”

Rwanda will meet Kenya over two legs and the winner will proceed to the next round to play the winner between the Nigeria/Sierra Leone fixture ahead of the finals which will be held in Namibia from October 15-25.

The second and final round first leg matches will be played from May 23-25 and the second leg matches between June 7 and 8 to decide who join Namibia for the finals in Windhoek.
