Rwanda is set to field a schools’ select side in Uganda’s prestigious schools’ cricket tournament dubbed ‘schools cricket week’ after being invited by Uganda Cricket Association (UCA) Times Sport has learnt.

The schools’ cricket week is scheduled for August 15-22 in Kampala, Uganda.

The tournament attracts Uganda’s top cricket schools and Rwanda Cricket Association believes this is a great opportunity for the youngsters to weigh themselves.

"Uganda has a superior ICC ranking so it is an honor for us to test ourselves with them,” a close source to the association said.

With hardly two weeks to the tournament, the youngsters have already embarked on training at Kicukiro oval.

"The guys are very excited about the opportunity and they want to prove a point in Uganda,” RCA’s schools development officer Emmanuel Byiringiro noted.
