Big guns in easy Peace Cup draws

DEFENDING champions AS Kigali will face the winner between Rwamagana and UNR in the 1/16th round of the 2014 Peace Cup championship due to start on March 15.In the draw, held on Friday at Ferwafa headquarters, APR and Rayon Sports were drawn against second division clubs Akagera and Sunrise in the knockout phase.It’s only in the 1/8 and 1/4 where teams will play two legs.Rayon Sports might face AS Kigali in the 1/8 with the winner due to face APR in the 1/4 should they manage to progress. The winner between Rayon Sports/AS Kigali and APR in the quarter-finals might come up against SC Kiyovu in the semi-finals.Police will face tricky Mukura in the 1/8 should both manage to progress past the preliminary hurdles.The final will be played on July 4 – the day on which the country marks Liberation Day.Last year, AS Kigali made light work of AS Muhanga, winning 3-0 to lift the Peace Cup.
