The South Africa-based Rwandan High Commissioner, Vincent Karega, Thursday presented his credentials to King Letsie III of the Kingdom of Lesotho, officially marking approval as Rwanda’s High Commissioner to the Kingdom.

Karega said that Rwanda will continue to join hands with Lesotho in the pursuit of Africa’s prosperity by enhancing a stronger South-South cooperation.

King Letsie responded by acknowledging the progress Rwanda has made in recent years in different sectors, mainly economic growth, ICT development, and good governance.

After presenting his credentials to the King of Lesotho, Karega made a courtesy call on Lesotho’s Prime Minister, Dr M.T. Thabane.

Rwanda and Lesotho have strong relations and are cooperating on different levels, mainly in local government, decentralisation, and rural development.

Officials from the two countries have of late exchanged visits at the ministerial level to share experiences and best practices in local government and decentralisation.

The King of Lesotho encouraged officials from both countries to do more to explore other cooperation opportunities.
