Defending champions Rayon Sports have asked Police FC to pay them Rwf.3m for striker Jerome Sina who controversially signed for the Cops this week from DR Congo.Rwandan international Sina left Rayon Sports just over a year ago, citing unpaid salary arrears and joined Congo’s FC Lupopo. Rayon branded him a ‘deserter’ and accused him of breaching his contract which still had six months. Rayon general secretary Olivier Gakwaya said: "Sina is still our player and we believe Police should first settle the issues between us and player before calling him their player.” "He left before winding up his contract. We want compensation for that period before we can allow him to play for anyone else,” he stated. He said the club has already petitioned Football governing body Ferwafa.Albert Mwanafunzi, who is in charge of competitions at Ferwafa, confirmed they have received Rayon’s official complaint but were yet to discuss it. However, Police FC Spokesperson Jean de Dieu Mayira said Sina’s transfer papers indicate he has been playing in DRC for one year, insisting it’s the Congolese side that had the rights on the player.Police are fourth on the league log with 27 points, six behind leaders APR and four adrift of second-placed Rayon Sports.
