Aspiring musicians, DJs and audio producers have reason to smile.  A new music school, Scratch Music Academy recently launched its operations in Kigali. Located on the 4th floor of Ndamage building in downtown Kigali, the academy boasts a fully fledged audio production studio that will also double as a training facility for those interested in learning audio production.According to DJ Nano, one of the project’s partners, the studio will juggle production of songs, audio adverts, and audio ID's."The studio is equipped with modern facilities and software to enable learners to be up to date with the latest technological trends in audio production. Already, a handful of some of the best audio producers in town have paid us a courtesy visit, and so far they are satisfied with what they see,” he said, adding: "The academy will also train individuals interested in the art of deejaying. There is a full course that is already in place and we shall be using professional equipment for this too. Currently there are a few students who have taken it up, and our doors are still open.”The academy is owned by DJ Sharif, the resident DJ at Le Must Pub in Kiyovu. Sharif also co-hosts the Xtreme Friday Takeover alongside Alex Ndahiro on Flash FM.
