Jemba Mbanga scored the consolation goal for Jean Baptiste Kayiranga’s newly promoted side with three minutes left on the clock after a glaring mistake by Rayon defender Arafat Serugendo. After the game Mbusa said he is ready to fully take charge as head coach job if he is given a chance."I am capable of leading this team to success because I know what it takes to build the team like Rayon Sports, so I am ready to do the job if there is trust in me,” said the Rayon Sports’ assistant coach. The DR Congo-born tactician added, "I know all the players and the club in and out, and I have talked to them (players) following the departure of the head coach. We understand each other quite well and I am pretty sure we can take Rayon far together.” Gicumbi head coach Jean Baptist Kayiranga admitted his team was beaten by superior opponents, "We tried our best but we cannot blame ourselves because we have played against the best team in the country, they are the champions, so to lose against them it is not something to be ashamed of.” Wins for the top sixThe win took the Blues to 31 points, two points behind archrivals APR, while moving three points ahead of third-placed AS Kigali, who kept pressure on the two top sides with a 1-0 win away to bottom side Amagaju FC on Saturday after 14 rounds of matches.Elsewhere this weekend, sixth-placed SC Kiyovu thrashed Musanze 6-0 at Mumena stadium to move to 25 points, eight points behind APR, who won 3-0 away to Marines on Saturday. The race for the title continues to get exciting after all the top six teams won this weekend.
