Being just an entrepreneur is not satisfying when you lack skills to grow. Entrepreneurial behavior is the ability to know and understand the need to develop some behaviors that will easily describe your field for better connections, communication and networking.
The term entrepreneurial behavior may be defined as a behavior that allows one exhibit and spot opportunities in the market and turn them into possibilities or, an innovation, improvement that an individual makes up on existing ideas, to market a good or service effectively in a competitive market.
Alex Kamanda, assistant manager at KALEB ltd, a shipping company, says these behaviors play an important role in promoting a business. They are clarified into two forms, strategic and effectual entrepreneurship.
He says that strategic entrepreneurship can be described as the ability for entrepreneurs to analyse an opportunity coming, study it and work on it using unseen or underutilized resources and deliver value without using other resources or those that are hard to get.
Effectual entrepreneurship helps an entrepreneur predict the future by using the available resources and utilizing them effectively to ensure success.
"You are able to consider what the business needs to grow. They will evoke new creative and transformation tactics,” Kamanda says.
These are some of the behaviors that you will need to develop as an entrepreneur, to effectively influence you become a successful entrepreneur and navigate ahead with greater ease. As they also once said that each bump in the road was chalked up to experience.
Overcome your fear
Fear often attacks us anytime we want to accomplish big goals. With that, it may not be easy to keep your business engaged in public, yet if you do not, nobody may do it better than you. Here, public speaking is defined as any conversation you have with multiple people at one time about your business.
Learn how to overcome nerves and deliver a great presentation. The more practiced, the less nervous you will feel, and the more confident you will sound even if that is not the case. Public speaking won’t get easier with time, but it will get easier with practice.
Develop mathematical thinking
You need to be a problem solver. Mathematical thinking improves the problem-solving skills and ability to help you evolve into a logical thinker, rather than emotional thinker. It is the basis of constant improvement, communication, and learning.
Listen more and talk less
Experts say that listening instead of more talks gives oneself a space to develop new, greater ideas. You have more time to formulate these ideas into articulate sentences, and less likely to say something that leaves you blushing. This also allows you to focus on something more important, as you learn.
Read books
Books encourage self-education. They motivate you with a number of ideas on how to boost your business. This also strengthens your brain, improves memory and concentration.
Learn entrepreneurs’ tricks
According to entrepreneurship.com, entrepreneurs will have their own way of sharing new ideas. They will not specify that let’s meet and talk about how I can sell you my property.
They will for example arrange a golf tournament or meet for coffee. From there, they will discuss and share plenty of suggestions. The one invited is mostly not aware of what the discussions are really about.
Engage in conversation
Any conversation held up, you should always involve in the business aspect, to attract business people in your conversation. This will boost your level of business mind and also connect you to people with greater skills that you need.
However, a Senior Faculty in Management Practice with interests in Entrepreneurship education, technology ventures and entrepreneurial behavior, Simon Stockley, while these forms of entrepreneurship are unlikely to disappear anytime soon, the fact they are the minority, and not the majority, when it comes to entrepreneurial behavior means those that possess it are far more likely to use their talents to benefit us rather than hinder us. And if the entrepreneurs among us harness their skills for good, the world is only going to continue to get more and more exciting.
