The beginning and end of year is usually a time for families, organisations, and employees from different companies to come together and share the joy for their achievements over the yester year and make plans for the New Year.It is in this regard that Korea Telecom (KT), as a key player in broadband connectivity ventures in Rwanda, organised a special end-of-the-year party for Rwandan students currently in South Korea to wish them a happy 2014.It was also an opportunity for Rwandan students to chat with the KT’s Global Enterprise Group president Hongjin Kim, who said Rwanda and South Korea have a lot in common. One of the similarities he highlighted was a post-conflict quick recovery and the resilience of citizens of the two friendly countries. He also pointed out that, like Korea, Rwanda is also investing heavily in its citizens, a major and reliable resource."People have more value compared to natural resources and Rwanda has invested in developing its human resource,” Hongjin told the students. He hailed the post-conflict result-oriented leadership in Rwanda. Hongjin promised that KT will be giving interested students a chance to do internship at their company as a way of enhancing their skills. He reminded the students to be more focused and play a significant role in the development of Rwanda. The representative of the Rwandan students, James Ntaganda, thanked KT for organising the ceremony and affirmed their commitment to achieving their academic goals."Coming to Korea is a great opportunity for Rwandan students. We shall not disappoint the people and institutions that trusted us,” he said.
