REG 96-60 Espoir BBC

Rwanda Energy Group becomes the first team to advance to the finals of the 2023 basketball league playoffs, following Sunday’s 96-60 Game 3 victory over Espoir at BK Arena to make it three wins in a row and finish the best of five semifinals undefeated.

Star point guard Adonis Filer’s scored team high 19 points, while Pascal Niyonkuru and Kami Kabange contributed 16 and 14 points respectively to sweep Espoir who looked inferior throughout the series.

On the Espoir side, forward Eric Muhayumukiza scored game high 20 points as his team tried to pull one game back and keep their hopes for going to the finals alive but his group could not contribute as he did only to be shown a way to the playoffs exit.

REG will now face either Patriots or APR in the best of seven finals that will begin from September 6 at BK Arena.
