We all know that saving is a beneficial habit. However, Stanislaus Habyarimana, a teacher at IPRC Technical School, got more than what he bargained for when he opened a savings account with Ecobank recently.

Habyarimana was on Monday announced winner of a new Toyota Rav4 in the just-concluded savings promotion by Ecobank dubbed ‘Kabyinzozi’.

The excited teacher confessed that he hadn’t even saved Rwf700,000 since he opened the account.

Eric Rubega, the Ecobank head of domestic banking, said the promotion was aimed at encouraging people adapt a saving culture.

Other 12 customers also won prizes, including TV sets and smart phones, during the six-month promo.
