Rwanda Volleyball Federation, in collaboration with the Federation International de Volleyball Federation (FIVB), is set to establish a volleyball development centre in the country, Times Sport has learned.According to the FRVB chairperson Gustave Nkurunziza, there is need for more infrastructure to help increase the number of players and improve the level of competitiveness of the game in the country.FIVB is willing to extend financial and technical support after Rwanda proved it has the will and potential to become a powerhouse in African volleyball, he said on Monday.He said the centre will not only be open to Rwandan players but also players from the region and beyond.Once fully operational, the Rwanda Development Centre will be involved in organising regional and international competitions, the official said.Works on the centre, to be constructed in Gahanga, Kicukiro District, are due to commence later this year.
