There was low business at the Rwanda Stock Exchange yesterday with only 26,500 Bank of Kigali shares valued at Rwf6.5m exchanging hands in three deals. This was a huge decline compared to Rwf29.4m from 80,400 Bank of Kigali and 11,600 Bralirwa shares the previous Monday.

This was a huge decline compared to Rwf29.4m from 80,400 Bank of Kigali and 11,600 Bralirwa shares the previous Monday.However, the Rwanda Stock Exchange Share Index was up 1.74 points yesterday to close at 233.94 points compared to 232.2 points last Monday.Bank of Kigali shares traded and closed at Rwf245, whereas the Bralirwa counter was quiet with no shares exchanging hands.Kenya Commercial Bank shares last transacted at Rwf185, while Nation Media Group and Uchumi Supermarket shares last transacted at Rwf1,200 and Rwf175, respectively.There were outstanding offers of 210,700 Bank of Kigali shares at between Rwf249 and Rwf250 and bids for 6,835,300 shares at between Rwf234 and Rwf245. On the Bralirwa counter, there were 103,700 offers at between Rwf840 and Rwf890 and an outstanding bid for 22,000 shares at Rwf825.There were bids for 12,400 shares on the Kenya Commercial Bank counter at between Rwf175 and Rwf180 and no offers. The Nation Media Group counter had an outstanding bid for 1,000 shares at Rwf1,200 and no offers.The Uchumi Supermarkets counter had an outstanding offer of 1,000 shares at Rwf175 and no bids.
