Editor,I wish to thank The New Times for the valuable information provided in the article, "Market for carbon credits remains high, says Rema” (January 7).I have been thinking that, if our area is not fertile but is good for tree forestation, can an individual contribute in reducing global warming by planting trees on a big area, and get benefits from this kind of investment? Can we make money out of it?If so, this could undoubtedly motivate people to plant trees, contribute to this noble goal and enjoy the benefits. How much can one get per hectare each year? In my understanding, planting trees is good because it contributes to global warming reduction and it’s something that we should all strive to achieve.Rutabagisha, Rwanda
