NYAMASHEKE — The district Mayor, Vincent Muragwa has warned area local leaders against mismanaging public funds.

He made the call last week while addressing over 600 cell, sector and district leaders at Kagano parish conference hall in Kagano sector.

Mayor Muragwa explained that maintaining, controlling and efficient use of government properties and public funds was vital in eradicating poverty.

"I encourage each and every leader attending this meeting to always maintain all sorts of government properties. And to avoid misuse of public funds at your respective work places because that is when our district and Rwanda as a nation will develop,” he said.

Muragwa also advised participants to always work hard and to share their knowledge and work experience with others.  Participants were further called upon to help vulnerable residents like vulnerable genocide survivors.

On poverty, the mayor asked leaders to encourage farmers to adopt use of modern agricultural techniques which would enable them increase their agricultural output.
