The national football league favorites Atraco are up for a crunch tie this afternoon when they take on Rayon Sport at Muhanga stadium.

Atraco, who have a one point lead over reigning champions APR are without four top players for today’s tie.

The taxi-men’s custodian Jean Luc Ndayishimiye has a rib injury while the trio of Joseph Kabagambe, Tom Ssemwogerere and Ismail Nshutinamagara are out with knee injuries.

"They will miss tomorrow’s (today) fixture against Rayon Sport,” Atraco’s coach Jean Marie Ntagwabira said before naming Custodian Charles Hakizimana, Jabir Irankunda, Charles Kawuma and Peter Kagabo as possible replacements for the injured quartet.

However, there is a possibility that Ntagwabira may risk playing his preferred defence partnership of Ssemwogerere and Nshutinamagara.

With five fixtures to wrap up the league, victory over Rayon Sport will leave Atraco in a very good position of lifting their first ever league trophy.

Atraco who blossomed to top flight football two years ago are at the helm of table with 50 points, one ahead of APR who closed the gap after Wednesday’s 2-1win over Police.

Meanwhile, Rayon Sport who has had little time to prepare for today’s tie will also maneuver its way to a win without its influential midfielder Kalisa Kase.

Since the club’s return from the Cecafa/Kagame Cup championship in Dar-es-Salaam, Tanzania, it is said that Kase has gone missing (Away Without Official Leave) leaving a big gap in the Blues’ midfield.

However, Coach Raoul Shungu has downplayed Kase’s absence insisting that the club can cope without him.

"I have 17 players in camp from which to choose the winning team for Atraco’s game,” Shungu said.

Shungu will rely on Jimmy Kidega and Djuma Masudi in midfield while Jimmy Gatete and Jean Lomami will lead Rayon’s attack.

Rayon Sport, third on the table has amassed 40 points from 18 fixtures.
