Dear editor,

The recently concluded 49th anniversary of Rwanda’s former king is a sure indicator that people treasure their history.

Though King Rudahigwa ruled under the influence of the Belgians, stood his ground by maintaining the right standard of his principles and beliefs as regarded the rule of his people.

Though he died mysteriously, he had a great impact on many people. Remembering him and all the other fallen kings of Rwanda should be significant.

The kings are credited for the maintenance of Rwandan culture, which is cherished by the whole world today. What the people of Nyanza did was great as regards unity and reconciliation.

This simple event is a sign that Rwandans are committed to remaining unified no matter what the past has been.
