On August 23, renowned Rwandan musician Tom Close and his wife Ange Tricia Niyonshuti signed a contract with Zacu Tv Entertainment, a film distribution company in Rwanda.
This is not the usual branding partnership or endorsement deal that Tom has been signing for the past few years, but a deal that will kick-start his movie career.

"This is one of a number of films I have written that I intend to direct and produce. We have teamed up with Zacu to co-produce with IGA Publisher, a company run by my wife that usually publishes my books. We intend to shoot around November this year, but in the meantime, pre-production has started," Tom Close told The New Times.
The renowned musician further noted that the film, which he will be directing and co-producing, will be an action movie that highlights Rwanda's cattle heritage, adding that it will also have everything it needs to be released internationally.
When asked if he will be starring in the film, Tom said, "When I saw that there are so many talented actors, I decided to put my brick in filmmaking instead of giving them work. I think maybe when my time comes, I'll act, but for now I'm not acting.
